62 Redfish in 4 Hours

This day will be the most memorable day I have ever had on the water. I have had days in the fall where, not a charter, but when I’m fishing where I have boated 50. This is a record for sure, HANDS DOWN!!!! The previous record on my boat was held by MATT BISHOP, his record was 51 Reds in 6 hours and I honestly never thought that this would never be touched. He caught his fish in the month of December and we were sitting on a school in Cape Romain of about 200 that day. And his charter was a 6 hour trip.

What Gary and his son did was absolutely nothing but a pure “BEATDOWN” in only 4 hours. I was counting every fish the deck that day. NOT what they had on and lost but, What they actually got in the boat. I was about as busy as I ever have been on a charter.

The funny thing is, when Gary called me to book the charter, He asked me, “Is it going to be worth it”? I told him like I tell all my other clients, “fishin is fishin! Lets go out and see what the day has in store for us. It should be pretty good.!!!”

Here is the most amazing thing of all, It is in the middle of the summer and this happened!!! Another fact, If they boated all the Redfish they hooked, they may have pushed close to 100!! This is no jok   e, all the stars were aligned for this father and son duo. I have never seen anything like this before. These guys were great and and DAMN wore out, trust me!!!!

Another Fact, His boy also caught a Redfish that had “NO” spot on either side of him. In all the years and “THOUSANDS” of Redfish that I’ve caught, I have seen a few with only one spot, but never a Redfish with no spot at all. Unbelievable!!!!

Another Fact, “ALL ARTIFICIAL BAITS!!” Not one piece of live bait was on the boat this day!!! Berkley Gulp Crazy Legs and Spinner Baits with Gulp swimming minnows only.

Thanks for a great and unforgettable day!

While I don’t guarantee boating fish during one of our fishing charters from Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island and Georgetown South Carolina, I do guarantee we will have a great time out on the water!

Kerry and JJ

42 Reds in 6 hours

These guys booked a 6 hour trip From Murrells Inlet down to Georgetown. They really wanted to target the Redfish. So we met at the landing bright and early. The morning was cloudy with a huge chance of rain.  Within an hour, the downpours came. We managed to boat about 9 Reds, JJ caught the biggest at around 28 inches. We were only throwing popping corks at the time. After the storm the Reds just totally shut down.. So I was trying to figure out what to do and so I decided to run somewhere and just throw spinnerbaits on some flats at some Redfish.

We finally got there and I changed the baits and that was the trick. These guys were bass fisherman from upstate, and let me tell you they could cast with “PINPOINT” accuracy!!! These guys put on a clinic of how to catch fish. At one point, Kerry was “Puttin the Beatdown on JJ”!!! He boated like 8-9 in a row. But JJ, Always seem to catch all the big ones. Go figure.

These guys were a lot of fun and look forward to seeing them again on the boat. Awesome Fisherman!

Fish Myrtle Beach Family Fun

The Fishing Charter Myrtle Beach team took out the family fishing for the day. My sister and her Fiancé with his little boy came down for the holiday. I had my 2 boys out with us and it turned out to be a great day of fishing in Myrtle Beach.

We went on the flats in Cape Romain in McClellandville to look for the Reds. When we arrived there, It was total disappointment across all of our faces. The beautiful weather had brought out the most people I had ever seen on this flat. There were 4 boats in this area that I have been catching approx. 30-40 Reds per Myrtle Beach fishing charter a week ago. We decided to stay and fish because we had so many kids in the boat and was hoping the fish were still here. In disappointment, obviously in a week, the boats ran most of the fish from this area outta here. But we made the best of it and stuck with the plan.

Spencer 9, my oldest boy caught the first fish.It was a 22 inch Red.  Next thing you know everybody caught a fish!

Conrad 5, my youngest, Whispered in my ear ” Daddy, I want to catch another fish”! I told him to get ready because it was going to happen. And it did. He wrestled a 25 inch Redfish all by himself.  It almost took his arm off but he wasn’t not letting go of the Rod for nothing. Truly it was working him over but he wasn’t giving in to the fight. We got it into the boat and you couldn’t wipe that smile off of his face. He was so happy to get this fish in and his day was complete. Everybody fell asleep on the way home from the trip. We tagged all of the fish in hopes that nobody would Harvest any of the fish we caught that day. What a Great day to Remember while fishing Myrtle Beach.

Thanks Guys
